Statistics regarding vehicle sales can be a challenge with many countries, but I managed to put something together here. Registrations for cars were up 18 for the year so a strong result. The '+/-' column below is comparing market share variance for 2021 with 2020. Any yellow listings under -18% would have increased numerically but lost out sharewise.
It's a protected market to encourage local assembly and in countries like the Philippines I get that. As you get used to in Asia, Toyota is well in front. The Vios and Hilux are the best selling but they have success through many models Mitsubishi (Xpander and L300) and Nissan (Navara) lost ground while Ford (Ranger) was impressive. A few smaller selling brands didn't report sales but we won't lose sleep on that.
