The assembly plant here is in the city of Novo Mesto, in the south of the country. It makes the Twingo car, the current model made in conjunction with Daimler with its smart car. The other model made here is the Clio. Production volume has been climbing thanks to the Clio.
The past three years I have been unable to ascertain the number of smart models coming off the production line. I think the estimates below are not far off the real figure. It seems that the smart will be made here until 2022 when Geely will take over the manufacturing.
