UK Top 5 Sports Car Sales : 2004 -2016

The Mustang makes it in 2016

This category was getting up to 75,000 sales when it started. It has since settled into about 50,000 pa. The MG TF was on the way out along with the MGR company in 2004, but it was a strong selling model. The rest of the time, it has been mainly German and Japanese brands slugging it out. I thought what appears to be the combining of all British brand sports cars in 2016 an unusual move but that's how it was supplied. That must include Aston Martin, Mclaren and the like.

Over this period, the sports car's share of sales has dropped from 3% to just under 2%. A sizable drop and a general trend around the world.
