UK Top 5 MPV Sales : 2004 -2016

The Ford C-Max is now the best selling MPV in the UK

The multi purpose vehicle segment varies from country to country. In New Zealand they are not popular as a new car at all. Interestingly they are more popular as a used import with larger families finding the lower price more affordable. However, to get back to the UK, it isn't a huge market but consistent. Sales don't fluctuate much with the market, so their solid core of buyers are there each year regardless.

The Vauxhall Zafira was the best selling for year, until recently. In 2014 and 2015 the Citroën C4 Picasso, then in 2017 the Ford C-Max have taken centre stage. They are part of a segment that commands about 5% of all sales. They are practical and have a loyal following, as the data shows.
