Registrations were down 11% in February and also -12% YTD. Toyota has been the best selling brand since 2017 and is clearly intent on staying there. It's market share so far this year is down on the previous three years but still well ahead of Volkswagen in second place.
VW was dethroned by Toyota but is still a popular brand here with 10% of the market and up from fourth in 2024. Volvo and Škoda have slipped slightly.
Further down, Mercedes-Benz registrations are down a third but Polestar is up 500%. Peugeot, Dacia and Renault have doubled their sales YTD.
BYD arrived during 2023 and MG during 2024 and while both have settled in OK, Chinese brands are not prominent.
