Rivian delivered 8,640 vehicles in Q1 2025, 10,661 in Q2 and 13,201 in Q3. They were -36%, -23% and +32% respectively when compared to the corresponding three quarters a year earlier.
For Q1-Q3 2025 there were 32,502 deliveries in total. In 2024 the figure was 37,396 or -13% YTD.
So the 2025 figures are disappointing. Rivian has a target of 41,500 to 43,500 for the year, or about 10,500 per quarter. In 2024 it was just over 12,500 per quarter.
At first glance, the fact the company made 14,611 for Q1 seems too high. The explanation was that a new model (R2 picture above) is coming in 2026 so later this year production will be compromised as the factory is readied for that. So inventory is being built up to meet sales demand while production is affected. That is how it is panning out.
