Lada Brand Sales : 2021

The Lada car company started out in the 1970's making Fiat models but eventually turned to produce their own. The Renault Group took control in 2016 and after some rationalisation a leaner company emerged.

Like Dacia, it aims to offer a rugged, value for money vehicles ideally suited to the Russian market. It is most popular away from big cities. The similar focus to Dacia led to both brands becoming part of the Lada-Dacia unit from the beginning of 2021.

Passenger cars: The Vesta sedan/wagon is the best selling model, ahead of themore compact Granta sedan. The small tradesmanlike Largus MPV has found a niche in the market while the  4x4 continues to fulfill an important role in the range.

The Niva SUV was made by Lada (2021 - 25,415 units) and AutoVaz (2021 - 183 units)as can be seen below. AutoVaz has ceased operation and all Nivas are now built by Lada. The Lada Niva was up 131% but the AutoVaz version -98%. Combining them has the model up 23% overall.

Light commercial vehicles: A small part of the business, it's based around a single model the Largus. It is basically a Dacia Logan.
