This is a difficult company to understand. Exports represented 66% in 2011 and 51% in 2014. Now they are just 20%, yet sales have remained fairly constant as local sales grew to compensate. Why this happened and how they switched from mainly export to local sales so seamlessly is not something I've seen before. Even the arrival of the higher volume Tivoli didn't alter the total volume much either as other models waned in sync.
All models were down except the new Korando SUV, which I would imagine is a very important model for the company. Will they drive for exports again or settle for being a Korean supplier with overseas markets simply supplementing that?
