Registrations for December was up 2% although the YTD figure is down slightly at -1%. Considering the complete 2023 was down 29% on the corresponding year shows things are leveling off but are not exactly rosy either.
With no brand exceeding 10% of the market, leadership change is more likely. Suzuki has been pressing hard here for some years, occasionally reaching number one but not maintaining it. It's back and with a narrow lead. Hyundai has been doing the same as Suzuki and has been bumped back to second. Kia has never been the top dog and the wait continues. Chinese brands are doing well and more are being added each year.
