Registrations were 5% in December and up 11% for the completed 2023. Overall a positive result although historically still some way to go to hit a peak. VW is still top but going back many decades I couldn't find a lower market share for the people's car.
Škoda is at an all time high with its share so maybe there's a new people's car in the making. I've noticed Audi is pushing up volume in many markets and here too it's up to fourth and another record share for the marque at 6.8%.
Sticking with the VW group, SEAT is making a comeback after a couple of years in retreat and the spinoff brand Cupra is swiftly moving up the chart too. Fisker with its quirky SUV and Ineos with its old school equivalent have both arrived. BYD and BAIC from China are another two new entrants.
