Registrations for December were +8% and +0% for 2021 in full. The result was some way short of the record 73,000 registration of 2019. VW and Renault remained at the top, although the latter won't be second much longer if sales continue to fall.
Electric car sales went from 1,634 to 1,689 (just over 2% of the total) so not much happening there. Hybrids increased from 1,650 (3%) to 5,650 (10.5%) so they did much better. Fully electric cars do not fit well for most people. Unless big strides are made to mitigate or eliminate altogether the negatives, the rush that manufacturers are engaged in to switch fully to electric cars is premature.
