A 'New' Morgan

Looks different, doesn't it?

When a company like Morgan talk about something new, you take notice. This is a company that embraces the motoring spirit from another era. Not a bad thing as there is something exciting about sports cars from those times. Of course, they are hand built in limited numbers, so the price is beyond most. Still they always seem to have sufficient buyers to keep the factory gainfully employed.

Mind if I pass?

The new model is the Plus Four, replacing the Plus 4 which had been around for 70 years apparently. The car comes with a new aluminium chassis. The engine is a 2-litre turbo charged four pot from BMW, replacing a Ford unit. A six gear manual or eight cog auto are offered. Speed is up, as are the prices.

More modernn looking on the inside

In 2019, nearly 700 cars were sold globally, about 200 in the UK, just over 400 in Europe and the rest elsewhere. With the new model, it is hoped sales will pass 900 per annum.

See ya later
