Argentina Car/LCV Sales : 2025 (Jan-Aug)

Registrations for cars and light commercials have been well down for several years. This year, sales returned with a bang. In August, they were up 32% and YTD registrations were up an impressive 66%. 2025 will be the best year since 2018 unless there is a sudden change in fortunes. 

Toyota is in its fifth consecutive year at the top, but VW is not far behind. Toyota has dropped from 21.7% share to 17.2% while VW has held on to its share of the pie. Finding a brand that has actually decreased in volume is all but impossible, such has been the strong registrations. 

The top selling models were:

Fiat Cronos - 23,924

Toyota Yaris - 22,981

Peugeot 208 - 22,901

Toyota Hilux - 22,077

VW Amarok - 18,388

Ford Ranger - 18,468

VW Polo - 16,550

Toyota Corolla Cross - 14,165

VW Taos - 13,152

Chevrolet Tracker - 12,806

Peugeot 2008 - 11,341

It will be interesting to see if the increase is maintained for the rest of the year.
