VW Group Deliveries By Brand : 2020-21

Total deliveries were down 5% for the year, not bad although without the addition of another brand it would have been -10%. In these unusual times, it's hard to read too much into things. Some car manufacturers will secure more semiconductors than others.

Brands: The three biggest passenger car all lost ground to varying degrees. SEAT, Porsche and the three luxury marques (Bentley, Lamborghini and Bugatti) all increased. VW commercials were about even. Electric car deliveries increased from 228,400 to 448,500. Light commercial electric grew from 2,700 to 3,200.

Heavy commercial brands are not something discussed here but the two main ones did very well and another has been acquired, Navistar. You may think no electric sales in this area but MAN apparently does, with deliveries up from 500 to 800.

Region: China is the biggie for the VW Group and I have mentioned in the past I feel the company is perhaps a tad exposed in that regard. Well, that was the region that did the poorest with a -14% reduction in sales. That may be a blessing in disguise. Western Europe is the one other region where the Group is well represented. However, the growth has come in lesser regions which is a move to a broader spread of sales.
