I colour coded the list to show where brands historically originated. This shows that while Euro models are the most prevalent, the best selling ones come from Asian brands. Toyota is strong in rallying and the Finns love the sport.
In December, fully electric cars reached a record penetration of about 24%. For the full year, the figure was 10.3%, up from 4.4% in 2020. In 2021 hybrid variants amounted to 50% of all registrations. Government incentives to sway buyers toward such vehicles are working but fully electric cars have some catching up to do. Petrol was 31% and diesel just 8.5%.
