| Lexus turned things around in 2020 regarding market share |
Lists like this change only occasionally when the numbers are large. 2020 was an exception in the US. Mercedes took back its top spot, Tesla passed BMW and brand and and Lexus nearly did. Tesla also went past a downward Audi. Volvo jumped three placings and Lincoln one. JLR went down a place (with Jaguar having a precipitous fall) and Infiniti three notches lower.
Now that I've caught my breath, the premium segment performed slightly better than the average, which is often the case when sales are down. It will be interesting to see whether the changes of 2020 translate into more for 2021 or they were just an aberration.
