NZ Luxury Car Sales : 2025-26 (Jan-Sep)

The low volume marques in a car market can be overlooked due to their modest sales. However, in monetary terms, a lot is tied up in a relatively few vehicles. For a small country, 114 luxury car registrations in just four months isn't too bad a tally.

The top sellling model is the Lamborgjhini Urus (16), Bentley Continental (15) and the Aston Martin DBX (14). Aston Martin (31) and Ferrari (30) are the best selling marques.

Renault/Dacia Model Deliveries: 2025-26 (Q1-Q3)

Sales are holding up well. The top two best selling models have both lost share of the total Renault and Dacia deliveries Despite that, many others are doing well, as evidenced by the green shading above.

The new Renault 5 is going well as is the Dacia Bigster. The Twingo returns as an ev and is made in Slovenia.  The Boreal medium sized (I ignore generally accepted sizing descriptions) had a nice increase. It's not sold in mature markets.

The Filante is a large SUV built in Korea but it isn't going to Europe. It is made in coioperation with Geely. Meanwhile, the Dacia Striker (no connection with football apparently) is a large crossover/estate car made in Turkey and has just started its journey.

Renault Brand Car/LCV Deliveries: 2025-26 (Q1-Q3)

Quarterly Deliveries:
Renault brand sales are cruising along, up 1% for Q1-Q3 YOY. Not having a presence in China helps with that, as foreign brands are increasingly marginalised there.

Regional deliveries: This includes all brands in the Renault Group. Renault, Dacia and Alpine. Deliveries are down 2%. Europe has 70% share and down 1% in terms of volume. Dacia is the brand that is bringing the Renault Group down in 2026. It has usually been the one above average

Still, in these challenging times, that seems a decent result as many others are doing much worse than that. EAME (Eurasia, Africa & the Middle East) was down 2%,  Asia/Pacific down 5%, Latin America -6% and 'Others' were up 2%.
