USA Light Vehicle Sales : 2023

More and more  manufacturers are not releasing sales figures monthly, some quarterly. A few just don't seem to want to anymore. Some sites that collate sales data aren't that accurate. I've been caught out and now check the car company data directly when that's possible. It takes more time but is worth it.

Below I've had to estimate some of the sales figures, usually those further down the list and generally spotted with rounded numbers. It really has got rather messy. The 'Diff' column shows market share change. Nearly all brands increased sales but some of those lost ground to competitors.

Sales were up 12% which was a solid showing.  The Toyota nameplate held onto the lead but there is nothing between it and Ford. Chevrolet is not too far back at third either before a gap to Honda at fourth. US and german nameplates didn't seem to do so well but Japanese ones did better.

Data source: Manufacturers, estimates.
