The VW Golf (pictured above) has been a huge success for the company but its role is diminishing as SUVs and Crossover types take over. Certainly, the gap between the Golf and the chasing pack has been whittled down but here the Golf is still top. An element of conservatism or a case of enduring loyalty for this once dominant model?
VW has the top three places with the Opel Corsa (pictured below) in at fourth. Few models with brands hailing from outside of Europe make this list so the Model Y is an outlier in that regard. I coloured German brands yellow to emphasise their dominance here. Most of the European listings (pale blue) are German owned too.
