I colour coded the list to show where brands historically originated. The USA (purple) is the main colour with Asia (yellow) very strong lower down the list. Europe (blue) is barely noticeable.
The perennial top dog the F-Series remains comfortably ahead but did lose a little ground to the RAM equivalent. The Chevrolet Silverado dipped too, but what effect the semiconductor shortage had the manufacturer would know.
The Camry up at sixth, the Honda Civic at tenth, the Toyota Corolla at twelfth (and so it goes on) yet US car makers are walking away from passenger cars. There is more money in SUVs and pickup trucks but it seems lazy and defeatist to me. Sales of such vehicles may be in decline but there is still a large market for them in the US. The only difference I can see is Asian brands export their cars around the world but many US models were not, and the volumes were poorer as a result.
