Registrations for December were -26% and for the full 12 months 14%. The '+/-' column below is comparing market share variance for 2021 with 2020.
Dacia is the local brand but it has relinquished 3% of the total market. I assume it has realigned its pricing. In fact, the four brands associated with the Renault-Nissan alliance have all fallen substantially. Is this the post-Ghosn effect? He was noted for pushing volume as a strategy. Ford, Toyota has pushed up the rankings as have premium marques generally.
Point of interest: The country has introduced a scrappage scheme for 2022. When swapping an old car for a fossil fuel one, a small rebate, hybrid better and electric better still. This sort of scheme is expensive but obviously the government sees benefits that justify the cost.
