Registrations were down in every country and principality but some countries did worse than others. To highlight how they fared, I gave those that at least achieved a better than average loss a pale blue shading. For example, Germany's -19% was better than the -23% average so it avoided the yellow.
France has moved past the UK for the first time since 2011. Russia was the least affected in the top ten and increased its share 1.8% to 11.7%. Even in these turbulent times, the changes were not that striking.

I mention this pretty much every time, this division ignores political, economic and geographic reality.
ReplyDeleteCzech Republic is West of Austria. UK is propelling itself out of Europe, Russia has not much more to do with the continent than Georgia.
It does make sense to apply an EU/EEA filter (w/o UK), and then see the rest.
Or just group it together, in one list. There is absolutely no reason to keep Poland or Hungary from the first list.
They are fully integrated members of the Single Market. Slovakia beats most countries in car production per capita for that particular reason. Also in most of these countries, you can only import EU homologation cars (with exception of a few LHD markets that allow import of JDM cars with equivalence).
