Registrations for cars and LCVs for 2022 were -8%. Asian brands are popular and increasingly so. The '+/- diff' column below is for market share change.
Hyundai retains its number one spot with a much greater margin. Kia is in second place and lost a bit of ground to its sibling brand. Toyota is third and then a drop to Mazda, a long time popular make here. It zoom, zoom, zoomed past Škoda in a good year for the brand. Geely and Tesla both entered the top ten ranks with the former in particular making a huge gain.
There are notable variances between brands as sales bounce around with gay abandon. Quite a few new makes are appearing. Electric vehicles are encouraged here and this suits Chinese brands as they have prioritised development in this area.
