Europe Passenger Car Model Sales : 2020

The road ahead is both uncertain and challenging

Europe (without Russia) is down 24% although December was only down 3.6%. Unfortunately, 2021 has had a poor start so it's anyone's guess where it goes from here. Below green equals increase, but due to the scarcity of that being achieved, pale blue at least shows market share gain even with reduced volume.

VW is miles ahead at the top, so the interest lies below. Peugeot is matching Renault but didn't make any progress in catching them. All of the top nine bar one increased their share of the pie. Toyota in particular improving more than any other top ten brands.

Both Ford and Opel are moving away from protecting volume at the expense of margins, a move more should try. Kia all but passed Hyundai and I think deservedly so looking at the product. Sibling rivalry at its best.MG was the highest-ranked brand to actually increase, and they are back at 34th.
