Registrations were +9% in December but -19% for the 2020 calendar year. That's not a bad result. Local brand Škoda took the opportunity to extend its market share, now exceeding 35%! That's the best penetration since 2007, the sort of percentage you normally see in heavily protected markets. Hyundai got past VW but then slipped behind again. Dacia experienced a 34% drop in registrations and fell back to 5th.
Toyota was the only brand in the top 25 to register an increase, small at it was. The increases came from tiny brands many will not have heard of, most associated with the camper van industry.
