Finland Sales : 2022

Registrations for December were -5% and 2022 was -16%. The '+/- diff' column below is for market share change. Toyota is top and by a huge margin. It increased its share in excess of 3 full percentage points too. It now commands 18% of the market, high for a market with no local brand to support. VW fended off Kia to retain second place but lost a fair bit of ground. Kia is now third, passing Škoda.

Both Ford and Hyundai ceded substantial market share. Tesla hasn't been as successful here as in some other European markets but is making steady progress up the rankings. SEAT spin off Cupra is now outselling its older sibling, something that will become more frequent.

Iceland Top 50 Sales By Model : 2022

Iceland does have a unique market. How many can say they have two Jeep models in the top 25 or a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross in the top 5? In Iceland, then can say já to both. The Mitsubishi Elipse Cross (picture at the bottom of the page) is the only model the brand sold during 2022, another fact not replicated elsewhere I can think of. I'm sure there are more anomalies as well.

Iceland Sales : 2022

Registrations for '22 were up 29% compared to 2021 and increased by 18% in December. The '+/- diff' column below is for market share change. Toyota is top and pulled away with a strong tailwind with its market share at 16.7%. Kia was the best selling brand in '21 but it's overtaking of Toyota proved to be a short lived success. Dacia, Mitusbishi and Land Rover did well.

Brands that are exclusively or strongly involved with electric propulsion are featured prominently. Tesla is well settled at fourth with a real push toward the end of the year. New entrant Polestar and MG have settled in quickly. Camper vans are excluded from the list below.
