In a country where vehicles sales by the model are guarded like the Crown Jewels, it's nice to see a brand have transparency in this matter. Nissan used to do it too but seem to have ended that service. No other UK brand now does it as far as I know. Openness deserves rewarding so here's some free publicity for Toyota UK.
The UK passenger car market was down 29.4%, so the fact Toyota kept its reduction to just 13.2% is quite an achievement. That enabled the brand to increase its share from 4.6% to 5.6%. The compact Yaris is the biggest selling model, but the new Corolla came close to dethroning it. The RAV4 enjoyed a healthy 28% increase as did the Supra on admittedly on small numbers.
UK van sales were -20% for the year so to manage a break-even scenario was very strong indeed. The ProAce and ProAce City vans are built for Toyota by PSA.
