In 2021, sales reached 770,000, up 3%. The H6 reached about 360,000 units and the brand passed the cumulative mark of 7 million late in the year.
In 2022, an ongoing semiconductor shortage with started during 2022 was still having an impact. In addition, competition was rising in China, including a shift toward EVs. Haval wasn't as quick as it could have been in this.
For 2023, Haval came back with a surge, a 16% increase to 715,200 sales the result. How? China was flat but as legacy brands exited Russia, Haval set up a plant there, producing in the region of 100,000 vehicles. Exports were the future for growth.
On to 2024, with a -1% fall in volume. Parent company GWM had a hike in profit, based on a policy of promoting exports, which was proving more profitable than the local market.
2025 and sales were up to 758,600 with a +7% gain. More emphasis on PHEVs helped with this. Haval was proving very consistent in volume over this period.
Markets like South Africa and Australia were proving sucessful hunting grounds. 19,000 and 33,000 respectively. Russia was much higher though, in the region of 174,000 units. Sales in China were 402,000.
So 2026 is here and the 515,000 sales is 32% down on a complete 2025. It's down 2.5% YOY so 2026 could end up about the same as 2025.
