Luxembourg Car Sales : 2025 (Jan-Aug)

Luxembourg is a multilingual principality with French being the most common language. Ethnically they are mainly Germanic, as is their preference in cars. French brands do well here too. 

For August, registrations were up 1% and YTD up 1% also. As the economy is strong, premium marques are well represented toward the top of the list to the right. Mercedes-Benz (up) has closed the gap with BMW (down) while Audi is about the same as 2024.

Overall, European brands dominate, with Korea having some success. Japanese makes aren't that strong and the Chinese push hasn't been that effective here so far. Volkswagen overtook Renault in 2006 and remained at the top ever since. VW has lost some market share so far this year yet for now it retains top spot. 

As for the sales figures for models, it is all but impossible to find anything. I wish there was access to the top selling models, but no. Maybe in the future a more open data policy will improve the situation.
