Sales were down 30% for the year. Both economically and politically things are uncertain in Colombia and that always leads to caution when spending. The volatility in the market is seen with the contrasting fortunes being experienced between brands.
The 'Diff' column shows market share change so some of the more moderate increases were actually a drop in sales volume.
Renault took over from longstanding leader Chevrolet in 2017 but this year yielded to Toyota. Renault relies heavily on rebadged Dacia models such as the Logan pictured above. That wasn't enough.
Toyota moved from 11.4% to 16.4% in its push into the top spot. The Fortuner (pictured below) has made a big splash here. With import duty, it limits the success of many brands and rewards the few that can avoid it.
