Registrations for December were +11% and for 2022 were +1%. The '+/- diff' column below is for market share change. Counting car sales here is easy if one counts all vehicles, including heavy commercials. When one tries to extract them as I do, there could be a few slight anomalies.
Toyota is at the top with no sign of relinquishing its impressive margin. Mazda and Ford were two of the better selling brands that fell. MG is now advancing up the top ten. Chinese brands have been generally well received, Haval and LDV making progress and BYD already performing after just two months of sales. Tesla is another improver, impressive in a country that has yet to really get behind electric car subsidies.
