Now part of FCA (Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles), the US wing of the company has taken flight. Without Fiat, it is 11th on the list of car makers, a 15% volume rise in 2014 and global market sharer up from 2.9 to 3.3%. 82% of Chrysler Group production is for light commercials and that is an amazing percentage. Jeep is especially benefiting with very healthy expansion outside of North America. It all looks rosy, but not to CEO Sergio Marchionne who is concerned about how much money is needed to keep up with the competition. To view, (seen by clicking here).
Jeep started production in 2014 in Italy and a plant has just opened in Brazil in 2015. China should be added by the end of '15 and kit assembly is to start soon in India. Otherwise, apart from those developments, Chrysler is far too reliant on North America. Dodge, Ram and Chrysler branded vehicles are very much to US tastes so global sales will remain limited.
