Europe Passenger Car Sales : 2019

The average registrations over the past past ten years has been 14,165,600, so 2019 was 11.6% above that. So much for all the talk of doom and gloom. The profligate car industry is too often looking for external reasons to place blame for any woes they feel they are having to deal with, or headwinds they anticipate are approaching.

VW kept its comfortable advantage, largely unaffected by recent self-inflicted events that could have tarnished its image. Opel/Vauxhall yielded two placings on the list as it finds the balances between volume and profit. Tesla jumped 27th on an estimated sales total of an impressive 110,000 units. How will it go in 2020?

Some of the lower figures are estimates, which are manifest by their rounded nature. Green is up and yellow down.
