Škoda Model Production : 2016-17

The Karoq

Škoda production in the early 1990's was under 200,000 but with the advent of the Felicia model, production jumped to 240,000 in 1996. The Octavia arrived shortly after and 350,000 was reached. The Felicia was replaced by the Fabia in the year 2000 and the Superb model was introduced in 2002. By then 450,000 was approximately the volume being made.

More models were added but the whole range was increasing so no one model was responsible for the increases. 500,000 was easily passed in 2006, 600,000 a year later and the 700,000 was 2010 and 900,000 in 2011. All very frenetic. It slowed as the million was overtaken in 2014.

Things are moving more sedately now, with the SUV range set to become more important. The Octavia car still has over a third of the total, and the next two cars another third. SUVs are a low 17% for 2017 but that will change quickly.
