Russia Car Sales By Model : 2017

Korean cars do well here (Pic Autostat)
The Russian car market has a strong leaning toward not only the local Lada brand but also Korean. Renault also gets in there with its Dacia based models and even Japan isn't forgotten further down the list. VW has a couple of strong selling models but generally Germany isn't as successful as elsewhere in Europe.

If you're wondering where GM Opel went, the brand was pulled out of the market altogether. The compact Niva SUV model is a joint venture between GM and AvtoVAZ (Lada) and made in Russia for that market. It's been around since 1998, and although the body has been upgraded, the basic mechanical parts are the same. Rugged for such conditions.
