Turkey Car Sales : 2017

My history for Turkey doesn't go back that far but generally it is Renault leading the way. In fact it pulled away from VW with ease this year. Fiat and Hyundai passed a faltering Opel and Dacia is much closer now despite not growing at all. In fact for a largish market, Turkey is quite volatile with some hefty swings in fortune.

Sales were up 4% in 2016 but down 5% in 2017. So brands such as Fiat, Peugeot and Honda did especially well to grow as they did. One particular area that didn't go well was the premium one. So often this segment is more stable but all the major players took a hit in numbers, usually worse that the total market.

The chart below shows a % symbol that represents market share. The +/- column is increase or decrease based on the market share of 2017 against the 2016 year.
