Spain Car Sales : 2017

SEAT was for years the top selling brand, but was overtaken by Renault in 1980. The new leader remained there until 2006, when it started being shared around with other brands. VW then established itself as the numero uno for 2012-15.

In 2016 Renault was back and while SEAT was staking its claim for 2017 with a 22% increase, it wasn't enough to regain the mantle of best selling marque. With only one of the brands just managing to get an 8% share, this has to be the most evenly spread market anywhere.

SEAT had a huge 22% gain in sales, with Toyota also no doubt satisfied with a +19%. The 8% increase for the year will no doubt be welcomed by the industry especially after a +11% the previous 12 months.

The chart below shows a % symbol that represents market share. The +/- column is increase or decrease based on market share of 2017 against the 2016 year.
