Romania Car Sales : 2017

This is Dacia country. Why, back in 1997, it had 87% of the market! Since then, it has steadily taken less of a share of sales. It did bounce back to 33% in 2015 from a low of 25% in 2012. Škoda and VW have been fighting over second spot and for now the spoils belong to the latter.

Sales were +27% for the first six months and settled down to +11% by year's end. While that new total is good, it is nowhere near the boom time of last decade. I assume that was not a sustainable anyway, so maybe now more realistic.

The chart below shows a % symbol that represents market share. The +/- column is increase or decrease based on the market share of 2017 against the 2016 year.
