Norway Car Sales : 2017

Any make with electric or hybrid models will do well in Norway. Brands that are not offering those sorts of cars are seriously disadvantaged. For example the BMW i3 is the second best selling car this year, the Tesla X 4th and the Tesla S 8th.

Sales in 2017 were up 3%, just like they were the year before. It's been pretty steady for some years now after the turmoil of the economic issues several years ago. VW took the lead off Toyota in 2010 and has held it since, despite the latter doing well this year in closing the gap. BMW, Volvo and Mercedes are doing nicely from third to fifth place. Ford and Nissan are slipping away.

The chart below shows a % symbol that represents market share. The +/- column is increase or decrease based on the market share of 2017 against the 2016 year.
