Korea Vehicle Production - Brand : 2015-16

Total production was down 7.2% for 2016. I don't think the lack of diversification helps. Too many eggs in too few baskets. This is a protected market too, so Hyundai and Kia don't have to worry about the domestic market. They seem to have that sewn up well.

Passenger cars. Hyundai/Kia make 75% of the total Korean output. GM Korea exports strongly but with GM Europe now in PSA hands, exports there will suffer so we can expect numbers to drop there in future. In fact the future of the operation is uncertain. Samsung has benefited making export cars for Nissan.
