Wales Sales - Brand : 2016

Registrations in Wales were -1% after continuous increase since 2011. Ford is a very successful make in the Principality and despite a 6% drop, still commands over 18% of all sales. Across the UK Ford decreased 5% so pretty much in line with the rest of the country.

Those makes that were stronger here are: Nissan is 4th in Wales but 7th nationally, however has less market share (5.2%) than across the UK (5.7%). Renault is 7th here but 12th in the UK and 4.3% against 3.2%. Suzuki is 13th (UK 22nd) with 3.2% (1.4%).

Some that did worse: Mercedes is 9th (6th) and 3.8% (6.3%), Audi has 4.4% share (6.6%) and Land Rover is 18th (12th) and 2.3% share (3.0%),

Summary: Premium brands are down on the UK average, not surprising with so much of the UK's wealth around the south east of England. It's also the place where Ford is king.
