Spain Car Sales Jan-Jun 2017

SEAT was for years the top selling brand, but was overtaken by Renault in 1980. It remained the leader until 2006, when it started being shared around. VW sensed the power vacuum and became the numero uno for 2012. In 2016 Renault was back but now SEAT is staking its claim for 2017. With no brand managing even 8% share, that has to be the most evenly spread market anywhere.

SEAT had a huge 18% gain in market share, with Fiat also no doubt satisfied with a 13% effort. The 6% increase for June and 7% YTD will no doubt be welcomed by the industry as a whole. Renault falling four places without a massive drop undicates how tight it is at the top.

The chart below shows a % symbol that represents market share. The +/- column is increase or decrease based on the first six month's market share of 2017 against the full 2016 year.
