Samsung started making cars in 1998 with the help of Nissan but almost immediately it was hit the the Asian economic crisis. Renault took over in the year 2000 and it is now known as RSM. Exports were limited and now the brand is only sold in Korea. Even there it is a small player. It now mainly makes cars for Renault and Nissan which makes it viable.
From that you can see that sales won't be huge for cars wearing the Samsumg logo. Sales for 2017 so far are 52,776, up 12.5% from last year's 46,917. The main model is SM6, which commands 45% of all sales. It is a large family model which is the same as the Renault Talisman. The QM6 is also known as the Renault Koleos SUV and it has just over a quarter of all Samsung sales. The rest are limited in volume.
