Brazil Car/LCV Sales Jan-Jun 2017

In the 1960's through to the 90's it was VW that was the best selling brand, then on the 00's Fiat took over and carried that into this decade. However, GM had taken control in 2016 and is increasing that this year.

In 2017 sales have been up 4.3% but more importantly for June +13.7%. The last two years have seen dramatic falls in sales so for any talk of an increase will be music to the ears of car dealers and manufacturers alike.

The chart below shows a % symbol that represents market share. The +/- column is increase or decrease based on the first six month's market share of 2017 against the full 2016 year.

GM slightly improved its market share (+2%) and in a growing market that is even better. Fiart has lost considerable ground but VW is doing well with a 9% gain, pushing its share from 11.5% to 12.6%. One brand I have been watching is Jaguar. From minimal sales, it is consistently improving up its rank in the list below.
