Italy Car Sales Jan-Jun 2017


It's no surprise that Fiat is the main brand in its home market so let's look below that. For decades prior to 2010 Opel and Ford had a long running dogfight over second spot. Opel lost out third place to VW in 2010 and Ford likewise the number two ranking in 2012. Of course, we weren't aware of the 'assistance' VW cars were getting at the time. In 2017 Ford is coming back and it would be justice if they were able to reclaim #2.

Sales for the country were up 13% in June and +9% YTD. It isn't back to record levels but not too far off them either. Premium marques are not keeping up with the growth which is a usual trend as they don't rise or fall as much as mainstream brands.
