Israel Car Sales - Brand / 2016

The market increased nearly 13% for 2016, the fourth year of increase and a record too. The Israel Tax Authority has created a new formula for calculating the environmental tax on vehicles, effective on January 1, 2017. It will create a price rise for smaller cars (which seems ironic).

Hyundai is the leader, followed by Kia, a Korean 1 2 and 27% of all sales. Toyota had a small gain but lost a whole percentage point of market share, down to 10.5%. Mazda was in years gone by the biggest brand but it is currently 6th, while Mitsubishi has had a good run of late.

Further down, we see Ford had a strong performance after a fall from 2nd place in 2012. Ssangyong did well along with Land Rover, smart and Jaguar.

Pale yellow represents a reduction in registrations, pale blue is increase but lost market share. Green is for those exceeding the market growth and finally the salmon colour for those over 100% increase.
