One would wonder if one day the brand is retired altogether. It now only exists in Korea and sales are falling. In 2010 162,000 Samsung branded cars were sold but now it is half of that. Competition is tight in Korea, with imports, plus Hyundai, Kia, Chevrolet Korea and Ssangyong all fighting it out. It has a respected name at home so things may be worse if it the name was changed and Samsung dropped altogether.
I wonder if Renault could turn Samsung into a global premium marque. It's where profits are to be had, as long as the product was good and patience shown. They could even collaborate with Nissan's Infiniti with designs and production. It would give the brand a chance to succeed and prosper.
