Renault Group Car/LCV Production By Plant For Asia : 2010-14

The largest production model in Korea

Renault only has any manufacturing presence in Asia due to its purchase of Samsung in the year 2000 which is the Korean component, and the alliance with Nissan who makes cars in India for Renault.

First up the Korean operation, which is a Renault Group facility. With a capacity of something like 300,000 cars, it has of late been well short of that. Nissan making the Rogue from 2014 is helping but there is still plenty of capacity going begging.

Indian production is is done with a Nissan plant and is growing nicely, albeit in small volumes still. The 2014 data I had to work out myself as Renault no longer provides it. I believe it to be accurate but it may be the last year I will be able to construct it due to constant changes in the industry.

Summary: With no current presence in China, Renault doesn't make the numbers others do in this region. It's aim is to commence production there in 2016 which will increase Asia's importance to Renault.

Also known as the SM3/Fluence
