Something I believe is an exclusive is sales by nation for Land Rover. I haven't been able to put out all countries as LR doesn't disclose that so all of this is my work. However, it covers over 90% of global sales. Germany, Italy and Belgium are three nations that have sizable LR sales in the commercial vehicle category and so their totals are lower than they should be. I estimate at least 5,000 units between them could be added if I had the data to hand.
All nations of the Middle East are not here and a myriad of smaller countries elsewhere are absent too. Pakistan is only locally assembled Defenders. India is also not shown because LR do not reveal how many cars they sell there. This is mind numbing, as by all accounts sales are good and climbing. Why hide it? I tell you its crazy!
Manufacturers generally don't make this sort of thing available, nit just LR? The Renault Group is the only one that does and what harm has it done to them? Competitors already know, its just the public that is in the dark. Hats off to Renault and its thinking outside the padded cell. It's good publicity but antiquated thinking on the part of all other PR departments. The number of people that read this sort of article shows the interest is there.
As for the list, China is just hanging on by a thread to top spot. I have heard the new factory in China has not got off to as fast a start as was anticipated, which would explain (in part) the slower sales there. That plus the explosion at Tianjin. The UK is poised to pass it and take first place, while the US is also doing well. Russia has fallen badly due to economic issues. New Zealand has done amazingly for the size of the country and sales will pass 1,000 by year's end I wold imagine.
