Car Sales By Brand USA : 2014 (Nameplate)

Over 750,000 F-Series trucks were sold in 2014. Big is good

When you see the US chart the colour coding shows how US and Asian brands dominate. European makes struggle to get into serious volumes. Of course, among premium marques, they are right up there, but unlike Europe, it is mainstream cars that predominate.

Ford is the strongest nameplate, with Chevrolet not too far back. Toyota was top in 2008 and '09 and would like to get back there. Nissan had a big increase for a larger brand, 137,600 in unit sales. Jeep to sold an extra 201,900 cars and RAM gained 101,300 sales. Meanwhile VW dropped 40,734 sales.

The best selling car in the US, The Toyota Camry, with 428,600 sales

Further down, I wonder why Toyota persists with the Scion brand. Maserati made the most of new models, selling over 1,400 in December alone. With fuel prices down, Tesla will have it's work cut out trying to sell cars in 2015.
